  1. Excellent post and spot on. My wife and I both suffer from mental illness (she suffers from chronic illness as welk, including fibromyalgia) and we’ve sailed rough seas before and seen each other through…but not as saviors. We give help and strength to each other, but as you said, our troubles are ultimately our responsibility. Thanks again for such a great and insightful post!

Thank you so much for reading, and for your comment πŸ™‚ Yes, I completely agree and myself and my husband are very similar – he has supported me and been my rock at times, but I have also been there for him through the troubles that he has had. It is a fine line sometimes – I feel when we love someone and there is something wrong, its only natural to want to make it better – or to ‘fix’ it, but its not always the right thing to do and if its done repeatedly then it may start to form an unhealthy balance.
